About Jacketts
Jacketts is a Cottage with History! Meaning a ‘small parcel of land’ it was recorded as a farmhouse in the Doomsday book and today can be seen marked on Ordnance Survey maps of the area. This lovely old cob farmhouse has been divided into two Cottages. No 2 is the larger half and is now available for self catering holidays. Its sleeps up to four people, in one double bedroom and one twin bedroom.

The two bathrooms allow complete flexibility: the semi en-suite next to the Master bedroom can be private or opened up for use by both bedrooms; while the bathroom downstairs is perfect for a relaxing candle-lit bath or the practicality of bathing children!
The Cottage has a well-equipped kitchen including a dishwasher to make self-catering less of a chore!
The Inglenook in the sitting room /dining room not only adds character but has a lovely instant gas log burner which warms cold winter evenings, while the conservatory allows you to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine, even on those cooler summer mornings.

The small courtyard garden is a lovely extension of the Cottage in which you can relax and enjoy the fresh Devon air. For the more energetic, there are great walks straight out from the cottage, while in the local area there are a multitude of attractions waiting to be explored.
Otterton, East Devon
Otterton is a picture-postcard pretty village with many 17th-century cob and thatched cottages and farmhouses. It lies a mile from the sea between Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth on the East bank of the river Otter.
It is within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and surrounded by beautiful un-spoilt rolling countryside. A short walk from Jacketts is Otterton Mill – a working watermill which has been milling on this site for over 1,000 years. You can see flour being milled, smell it baking and then enjoy the wonderful taste of fresh-baked bread in their restaurant. The Mill also has a lovely gallery and shop with local arts and crafts for sale.

Only about 5 miles away is the huge sandy beach at Exmouth while closer and a lovely walk along the river Otter is the pebble beach at Budleigh Salterton. In the area Cyclists, Birdwatchers, Gardeners and Golfers are all well catered for while to keep the children happy, apart from the sandy beach there are Adventure Parks and Animal sanctuaries!
